Mission Statement
The mission of St. Joseph School is to proclaim the Gospel message of Jesus Christ, to help the students apply it to their daily lives, and enable them to achieve their full academic potential.
St. Joseph School Belief Statements
- We believe all children can learn.
- We believe each child is a valued individual with unique physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs. Therefore, we believe that all children should be supplied with a variety of instructional approaches to support their learning.
- We believe students need to apply their learning in meaningful contexts.
- We believe a student's self-esteem is enhanced by positive relationships and mutual respect among and between students and staff.
St. Joseph School
St. Joseph School is a Catholic parochial school built and supported by the parishioners. It provides a quality education for students in kindergarten to grade eight in all the basic subjects in addition to computer, art, Spanish, drama, music, and physical education. Through the CYO program, students are able to participate in a complete sports program.
Kindergarten Program
The school day begins at 8:25 a.m. and ends at 3:15 p.m. The program is designed to match each student's interests, abilities and learning style. All areas of reading readiness are emphasized, and math readiness is taught through discovery and the use of manipulatives. Play is a very important part of each day's activities and there is a short rest time after lunch. Our goal is for each child to love themselves and others, love God, and love school.
Age Requirements
Students entering kindergarten must be five years of age before September 30.
Registration Forms

Admission Policy
The admissions policy of St. Joseph School is in accordance with the student acceptance regulations of the Diocese of Cleveland. The school admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at St. Joseph School.
Tuition Policy
The actual, current cost to educate a child at St. Joseph School is in excess of $3800 per year. Realizing the importance of a Catholic education, the parishioners of St. Joseph Parish subsidize the expense of educating the children of the parish. Since it costs the parishioners such a large amount of money each year, it is only fair that there be some expectations placed upon the parents who receive this subsidy from the parish.
Therefore, in order to receive the subsidized (parishioner) rate, the following expectations must be met:
- The family must register as soon as they move into the parish boundaries.
- The family must be faithful in their attendance at Mass each weekend.
- The family is strongly encouraged to donate a minimum of $12.00 per week in the offertory collection.
The subsidized tuition rate for the children of parishioners is $2700 (225.00 per month) for the 2010-2011 school year. The tuition for next year has not yet been determined. This is regularly the largest amount of financial aid awarded except in cases of true financial need. There is a family plan for members of the parish with two or more children in the school.
We thank you for your interest in St. Joseph School and in a Catholic education for your child.
