Staff Member: Lorraine Wenmoth
As the Music & Worship Director, Lorrie Wenmoth serves as a resource on musical and liturgical matters for all staff, faculty, and volunteer ministers in the parish. She trains and leads the various adult and children's choirs for liturgies. She helps coordinate and plan Wedding Masses. Many times, you will find her as the organist at the liturgy you are attending. Lorrie also provides catechesis to the Parish on large matters of corporate worship and musical celebration.
Lorrie has been a member of Saint Joseph Parish her entire life. She put it best when she stated:
“ I have been a member of St. Joseph Parish since I was 10 months old. After graduating from St. Joseph grade school, I came back during high school to assist with the spring musical. In college, I directed the children's choir, adult choir, and the school Christmas program and Spring program. I taught one year at St. Patrick's in Kent while working on my master's Degree and supervised elementary education majors and music majors who were practicing their lessons in elementary general music. I came to work full time at St. Joseph in 1985 and have been here ever since. I am a lifer!”
Lorrie is a graduate of Saint Vincent-Saint Mary High School, where she still assists with the Marching Band. She received both her bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in Music Education from Kent State University.
From 1985 through 2016, Lorrie was the music teacher and band director for Saint Joseph School. As the Music & Worship Director, she will continue to direct the band.
When she is away from the Parish, Lorrie enjoys reading, playing with her dogs, and learning the cello.
