Advent Bible Study: Exploring the O Antiphons
In the last seven days of Advent (Dec. 17-24), each of the antiphons of evening prayer begin with an exclamation "O" and ends with a plea for the Messiah to come. They use ancient biblical imagery from the books of the Old Testament prophets used to draw on the hopes of the Old Testament to herald Christ's coming to fulfill all past and present hopes. As Christmas approaches, they cry becomes increasingly urgent. These are known as the great "O Antiphons".
Join us as we dive into and study the O Antiphons in the two weeks leading up to our O Antiphons celebration on December 17!
