St. Joseph Service Program
For Middle & High School Students
This program is approved to fulfill service hours for Archbishop Hoban, St. Vincent-St. Mary, Our Lady Of the Elms, and Walsh Jesuit High Schools.
Saint Joseph Parish is sponsoring a service program to provide an opportunity for our Middle and High School Students to directly interact with and work alongside the poor, marginalized, and vulnerable. Over the course of the summer and school year, students will visit and work at different sites, while connecting with people of different backgrounds. They will also be able to gain insight and appreciation for the work that it takes to plan and implement a service program as they create their own service project. Program is open to:
- Confirmation Candidates of Saint Joseph Parish (Some Date are already incorporated into the Preparation Schedule)
- Students in 7-12 Grade of Saint Joseph Parish
- Students in 9-12 Grade from area high schools needing Service Hours
2024-25 Service Program Schedule - Projects that are bolded, italics and underlined are REQUIRED participation for this service program. All others are optional but encouraged as your schedule allows.

Tuesday July 25: 8:45 AM - 3:00 PM – Akron Canton Regional Food Bank
Saturday August 17: 9:00 AM- 12 PM - Location TBD

Tuesday October 1: 7-8 PM – Creative Comfort Ministry @ Saint Joseph
November 3 - December 10: Giving Tree Project – 10 Hours - Planning Meeting done via Zoom November 3 @ 7 PM, Prepare Tags - November 10 @ 10 AM, Collect and Sort Items (Weekend of December 7/8), Deliver Items to Locations (December 14 @ 9AM )

Monday December 30: 8:30 AM - 3:00 PM – Haven of Rest and Deliver Christmas Packages to Homebound
