2022-23 Tuition Assistance Program for Grades K - 8

St. Joseph Parish School wants all children to have the gift of a Catholic education, so we are here to help you find the financial means to make it doable.   More than 90% of our students in grades K - 8 are awarded scholarship and grants to offset some or all tuition costs.

Following is a list of grants and scholarships for which most of our families are eligible.  These grants and scholarships will cover a portion or possibly the entire cost of your child’s tuition. These monies have been set aside specifically to assist with paying for tuition. 

 

2022-2023 Tuition for a Student in Grade Kindergarten Through Eighth: $5,490

 

Parish Tuition Assistance 

Academic Scholarship - The academic scholarship of $1,000 will be awarded to students that are members of St. Joseph Parish and perform two or more the following:  

  • Maintain a B or higher average each quarter
  • Demonstrate a high degree of scholastic aptitude and performance
  • Take a leadership role in an academic project or subject
  • Regularly assist other students in learning
  • Exemplify the tenets of the St. Joseph Parish School student

Students enrolled at St. Joseph Parish School will automatically be considered for this scholarship. No application required. 

Merit Scholarship - The merit scholarship of $1,000 will be awarded to students that are members of St. Joseph Parish and perform two or more of the following: 

  • Act as a Christian leader
  • Take on a leadership role in a service project, extra-curricular activity, or other program supportive of St. Joseph Parish
  • Perform service hours throughout the school year (each grade level has an assigned requirement of hours)
  • Exemplify the tenets of the St. Joseph Parish School student 

Students enrolled at St. Joseph Parish School will automatically be considered for this scholarship. No application required.

Faith Family Grant - The Faith Family Grant will be awarded to students of St. Joseph Parish families who work to spread the doctrine of the Catholic Church by bringing multiple disciples to Christ through Catholic Education and attending St. Joseph Parish School.

St. Joseph Parish School Catholicity Scholarship - $500 - Deadline May 1, 2022.  Alumna Theresa Haidnick frequently expressed her gratitude to have been able to attend St. Joseph Parish School. Ms. Haidnick was a lifetime member of St. Joseph Parish prior to her passing on October 14, 2018, at the age of 96! It was Ms. Haidnick’s hope to assist current and future St. Joseph students in obtaining an excellent Catholic education as was provided for herself and six brothers and sisters. Two $500 Catholicity scholarships will be awarded annually to students in grades 5, 6, or 7 to be used for the upcoming school year.

Msgr. Thomas P. Campbell Scholarship - ​Amount Varies - Deadlines March 15, 2022 (Round 1) and June 1, 2022 (Round 2)​. (Need-based). All school families are eligible to apply. Families must complete the Diocesan FACTS Financial Aid Management online application (https://online.factsmgt.com/aid).

​Fund A Dream - $2,500​.  Four scholarships ​will be awarded to students who are members of St. Joseph Parish and will be entering grades K​-7 in the upcoming school year.  All families that apply for DTA will be considered for this scholarship. (Need- & Merit-based) Families can apply for DTA by completing the Diocesan FACTS Financial Aid Management online application (https://online.factsmgt.com/aid).

 

Diocesan Tuition Assistance (DTA) 

DTA - Deadline for Round One - March 15, 2022; Deadline for Round Two - June 1, 2022.  Applications are accepted from January – June 1.  If you qualify, awards range from $450-$800 per student.   To apply, visit FACTS Financial Aid Management at https://online.factsmgt.com/aid.  (Need-based)

Bishops’ Scholarship for Excellence - $1,000 - Due to Mrs. DePasquale by March 8, 2022Students currently in grades 6 & 7 are eligible to apply.  See application form. (Merit-based)

M. Thomas Moore Family Scholarship - $500 - Due to Mrs. DePasquale by March 8, 2022.  Students currently in grades 1 through 7 are eligible to apply. See application guidelines.  (Merit-based) 

Our Lady of Victory Subsidy - TBD.  For students who are members of Our Lady of Victory in Tallmadge. Contact Our Lady of Victory Parish for more information on how to be considered for this subsidy. 

St. Eugene’s Parish Subsidy - $TBD. For students who are members of St. Eugene Parish in Cuyahoga Falls.  Contact St. Eugene Parish for more information on how to be considered for this subsidy. 

St. Matthew Parish Subsidy - $TBD.  For students who are members of St. Matthew Parish in Akron. Contact St. Matthew Parish for more information on how to be considered for this subsidy. 

 

State Tuition Assistance: Ohio Department of Education Scholarships

Educational Choice Scholarship (EdChoice) - Full Tuition - Opens: February 15, 2022.  The Educational Choice Scholarship (EdChoice) is available to students K-12 assigned to and currently attending a public school listed in the 2022-2023 List of Designated Public SchoolsBeginning the school year of 2022-2023, NEW students to St. Joseph Parish School in grades K-8 living in these districts are eligible to receive a scholarship of $5,490.  Completed EdChoice forms must be submitted to St. Joseph Parish School.  

Educational Choice Expansion Scholarship (EdChoice Expansion) - up to $5,490 - Opens February 15, 2022.  The EdChoice Expansion is available to students in K-8, based on income eligibility. The Income Eligibility of a family is 200% above the poverty line. Families do not have to live in a failing district to qualify for this scholarship, but families would have to apply annually with the state. The scholarship available to students is the price of tuition at the non-public school.  For St. Joseph Parish School it will be $5,490 for the 2022-2023 school year.   Visit EdChoice Expansion for Parents
